At the end of May LeRoy Track and Field athletes competed in district track and field in Humboldt. The students represented LeRoy very well and we are beyond proud of their dedication. Along with that we had two students’ progress to Provincials in Regina on June 3rd and 4th. Congratulations to Jonah Perlitz who competed in high jump and a huge congratulations to Mitchell McGrath who placed 2nd in Javelin at Provincials! We are so proud of our representatives. Along with a successful Track and Field Season comes amazing coach’s which we would like to thank, Mr.Lissina, Mrs. Smith, and Ms. Severson for their dedication to our program. We would like to extend a special congratulations to Ms. Severson who won the coach award for Horizon! She definitely deserved it and we love her dearly!

As the year winds down we say goodbye to some of our teachers. We will be saying goodbye to Mrs. Gebauer our grade 1, 2 teacher! We wish you luck in your future job at Humboldt Public School and we know they will love you as much as we do! We also will be saying bye to Mrs. Hanson who will be retiring after 30 plus years here in LeRoy. Thank you for all you have done over the years Mrs. Hanson, you will be missed dearly!

LeRoy School was very busy from June 4th to June 10th as our friends from Nova Scotia arrived in Regina airport on June 4th. The week was packed with a ton of interesting landmarks and activities. As a group we visited Batoche, Quill Lake Colony, “Dog River”, and the Cyncatron. We also experienced a Saskatchewan Roughrider training camp, got to escape rooms at Dead Lock Escapes, and went through both the tunnels at Moose Jaw. The kids from Nova Scotia were excited to see flatlands but were surprised by how much Saskatchewan had to offer! They soon got use to the regular 2 hour drives with no towns and the ability to sleep on the bus. This time around the friendships had already been made and the week seemed like a full week of fieldtrips with a bunch of our greatest friends. June 9th the students headed to Regina to prepare for an early flight home. That was definitely one of the hardest days. The tears flowed from everyone with our final goodbyes were said. Crazy how exactly a month ago we did not even know each other flying into Nova Scotia, but them flying out of Regina that day was leaving a group of amazing friends and chaperones who we love dearly! We will miss them all but we hope in the future we can visit Nova Scotia again and they are always welcome back here in Saskatchewan!

With the final weeks approaching, grad preparation is busy occurring in LeRoy, for June 17th. Congratulations to the large class of 3 for finishing their 13 years here in LeRoy School. A big congrats to Jaiden Muller, Nicholas Hanson, and Cassidy Oesch. Good luck in all of your future endeavors!

LeRoy School has had an exciting year with much to be proud of! Everyone learned a thing or two and found their spot at school and we hope the continued friends have a blast during the Summer Holidays! But before that we wish all students writing exams and departmentals luck! Study hard!!

Have a great Summer Holiday!
