Track Day

On Monday May 16th, Winston High’s athletes took to the sports grounds for a day of track competition. The weather was hot, the food booth was open and school was more or less in session. You know when track rolls around, summer isn’t far behind.

Students from towns like Lanigan, Le Roy, Cudworth, and Wakaw came to participate in the events. Some events participated in were Long Jump, Triple Jump, 100-meter race, 200-meter, Shot Put, Javelin and Hurdles. In each individual age category and event, students receiving the first, second or third place are able to move forward to Districts, which will take place in Humboldt on May 25th.  After a long hot day of events around the track, students going to Districts were relived that their hard work paid off. Other students participating made the track day possible, congratulations to all Track and Field participants.

With Districts ahead Winston’s athletes will have to prepare for larger competition, and more competitors. Good luck on the 25th! And thanks for all participants in this years track and field.
