Subject:"March"ing Along at LES
Highlights for the month of March at L.E.S. included guest speakers, Telemiracle fundraising, a puppet show, Lodge visits and the Book Fair.

We were pleased to welcome Leah Clark and Dale Knouse to do presentations for Agriculture Literacy Week on March 3 & 4.  Leah presented information on cattle to the Grade 2-3 students while Dale talked about crops and careers in farming to Grade 4-6 students.  Staff and students raised just over $2000 for Telemiracle by having a spare change drive.  The K-5 students enjoyed the puppet show called Dreamcatcher and the Seven Grandfathers by Chad Solomon and his Rabbit and Bear Paws company.  The residents at Central Parkland Lodge were treated to two singing performances by the K-2 students, then the Grade 3-4 rooms.  Both groups entertained with St. Patrick's Day and Easter songs, as well as some old favourites.  This year's Book Fair was really groovy...just ask Mrs. Hollman (a.k.a. The Hippie LIbrarian)!  Thanks for another successful fair complete with cool displays, games and prizes.
