Getting Chilly Out

Term one is complete and term two is zooming by without a pause! We are well into November which has turned into a really cold month, so make sure when you are sending your kids to school dressed in proper winter clothing so they stay warm at recess.

On November 3rd report cards were sent home with students and November 4th to 5th were the 3 way conferences. It was great to see so many parents out and interested in their child(ren)’s learning. November 11th to November 13th there will be no school for students or staff. Make sure you take time to remember on the 11th and then enjoy the rest of your long weekend. November 30th is Ninja Turtle Day so make sure you wear a ninja turtle shirt or the color of your team along with the bandanas you were given at the start of the school year.

The Junior Girls Volleyball team had a great season finishing first in their Pre-District which is a first for Schell since 2009. The then advanced to Districts in Rose Valley where the girls represented Schell well, but did not advance into semi-final play.

November 10th was Cool to be Canadian Day where we wore red and white in honor of our country. At 10:45am the staff and students from grades 5 to 12 headed to our local cemeteries to honor the fallen veterans in our area by placing Canadian flags at their gravesites. We then came back to school and held our annual Remembrance Day Service at 2:00 pm for all school and community members that wished to attend. Thank you to the students and staff for all the effort and respect placed on honouring our veterans.

Well December is almost upon us, stay tuned for all the exciting holiday events to be held at Schell next month!
