Welcome Back to another Year

The beginning of school years are always exciting seeing that Mr. Heritage has been planning some pretty fantastic things last year for this year. To kick start the year the SRC group planned fun spirit week activities for the second week of school. On Tuesday September 8th there was backwards day, Wednesday the 9th neon colour day; Thursday the 10th Pajama day and Friday the 11th was red day. Mr. Heritage said if all the students wore red he would dye his hair a bright red, not one student wasn’t wearing red. September 11th was a very special day for us as Mr. Heritage has been planning a football team for Viscount School since last year and on that day was our first football game in 35 years. The boys have been working very hard over summer and after schools to be as best as they could for their first game. However the Viscount Vikings lost to Hanley but still had an amazing attitude afterwards. Good job boys! The school held a pep rally that not only got us excited for the first football game but for the Jr. Girls’ volleyball team that were going to a tournament in Leroy on Saturday September 12th. They were playing against Leroy, Quill Lake and Watson. The girls have been working very hard and it sure did show when they won second place and brought home a plaque. Congratulations girls! The girls played another tournament on September 17th in Viscount against Humboldt and Wakaw. The girls won against Humboldt but not against Wakaw, very good game ladies. On Friday September 18th the football team had their home coming game in Viscount against Central Butte school but lost their game. For the homecoming game staff and students help set up memorabilia’s from when the school first started. There were yearbooks, old jerseys, jackets and flags. It was nice seeing the school we go to when it first opened up. Good luck for all the upcoming games and exams. Have a fantastic year!
