Back To School!

LeRoy School and students decided to welcome the 2015-16 school year in with excitement! The students were treated on September 3rd as the LeRoy Credit Union providing a free welcome back lunch. The Credit Union is generously donating to our school often. The staff and students are very appreciative of them! During the 2nd week the SRC had a welcome back week that included; a gym blast, spirit week, and an assembly that introduced new kids, new SRC, and ended with a loud LeRoy cheer! The spirit week from September 8th to the 11th included days such as twin day, crazy hair day, and a favorite PJ day! September 13th, our 9-12’s traveled to Watson to see Travis Price, the man who started Pink Day all around Canada. This defiantly got us thinking and excited for our Pink Day in March! LeRoy has planned busy upcoming weeks with Terry Fox and sports events such as Jr and Sr Golf, Jr and Sr volleyball. Please keep your eyes posted for more news from LeRoy School!

Full swing ahead….

LeRoy has had a real busy first month of school! All of the volleyball teams are in full swing with the junior girls hosting their tournament on September 12th. The girls did great and ended up in 3rd. Thanks to all of the high school students, parents, and teachers who helped out at the tournament! The junior boys are practicing and league starts on September 23rd with their first game in Wadena. The senior girls have been practicing Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings and have played in a couple tournament. They played in Watson on the 4th and 5th, where they played great for their first tournament placing 4th. The girls also traveled to Raymore and Quill Lake. They are looking forward to hosting their home tournament on October 3rd. Come out and cheer on the girls! Golf also has finished off now, with the juniors playing on September 17th at pre-districts. The kids had an amazing day with many advancing to districts which was held on September 22nd. Along with sports we had our annual Terry Fox run on September 22nd, this is always a real successful event. Now that our first month is coming to a close the students are looking forward to October and everything that comes with it, including Halloween!!
