Subject:Foam Lake Elementary School March Events

March was a very busy month at the Foam Lake Elementary School.  On March 2nd, 5th, and 17th we had charity events.  These charity events included a Soup Lunch for the Wynyard Food Bank where students had to bring cans in and received soup in return that was prepared by the staff.  Over the school year we raised $350 for Telemiracle doing such things as wearing a hat for a day, chewing gum, and extended recess.  This money was added to the total of the Telemiracle hockey game where staff and high school students played against each other on March 5th.   On March 17th, all students paid fifty cents to wear a hat to school.  We also raised money for individual class rooms by having two cupcake sales one held by the grade 3 class on March 6th and one by the grade 2 class on March 25th.  These proceeds help with the cost of the class trip.
Our school also did many fun activities for the students including a grade 4 to 6 curling bonspiel held on March 12-13, Wide Open Puppet Theater performed at our school on March 23, a SCC family night where the kids learned Tae Kwon Do on March 4, a skating party on March 27, and grade 5-6 band trips to Melfort and Regina.  Our school is a busy, fun and active place to be!
In this month we also had report cards, interviews, and a book fair.  The interviews were well attended by all parents.  Book fair total was $2315.15 which means our school received $1000.00 worth of books for our library.  Thank you to the SCC for providing each student with a $3 coupon to use at the book fair.   Overall, it was a very busy month at the F.L.E.S.
