Greetings, and welcome to my very first report for March 2015.

March has been a very exciting and marvelous month for W.E.S.

First of all, Wynyard Elementary had our TeleMiracle Skate-A-Thon. All of the classes got a special time to skate throughout the day with other classes at the Wynyard Arena. At the very end of the day, the school had an assembly to announce our total and talk about the big event. The Grade 3R class was very proud to present to the students, staff and guests their speeches about TeleMiracle.
The students did not just tell us the final amount we raised they also gave us fun facts and interesting tidbits that most of the students did not know about TeleMiracle. For example they said that WES had raised over 90 000 dollars for TeleMircale in the past 39 years.  That is amazing! They were also happy to tell everyone the amount of money we raised.  And, our total for TeleMiracle was……. 3627.42 DOLLARS!!!!!! Way to go Wynyard Elementary for all of your dedication and thoughtfulness. We never would have raised that much if it weren’t for all of the children that went out and got pledges and for all of the families for donating. You are helping someone’s life get better with every penny you pledge.

That is not all. No, that’s only half!  You see, half of the money we raise will go to TeleMiracle and half stays at the school for our student body to be able to have the opportunity to go on trips and experience new activities. So really,, in all, we raised over $7000.00 DOLLARS!!!! That’s outstanding. Wow, it blows my mind. An even bigger Thank You to everyone for working as a team to make this happen.

That’s not the only marvelous activity about March. The grades 1-6 classes from our school went to Wapiti Ski hill to go skiing or snowboarding! What a great experience for everyone. The students arrived at the school around 8:00 am to get on the charter busses that the school paid for with some of our school’s money.
Once we had arrived at Wapiti, we filled our forms, got our supplies, had our lessons and we were off. It took a bit to get used to the ski experience for some, but everyone gave it their very best shot and at the end of the day they were proud to say it was awesome. The elementary school was joined by the high school around 9:00am. I am sure they had a blast too and also made lots of amazing memories and, hopefully, this will be an ongoing activity for the schools to keep doing.

And don’t worry about the grades Kindergarten and Pre-k because they had so much fun going to a special movie in Foam Lake.

March has been a blast so far but the fun does not end there.  The SRC have planned a real teat for all the school. On Tuesday March 16 was not only St. Patrick’s  Day, it was also triple G day at our school. You were allowed to bring 1 dollar in order to chew gum at school.  Gum must have been sugarless and no bubble gum was allowed.
You were also supposed to wear green and gold ( That’s why it was called triple G day because gum, green and gold.)

I hope you all had a fabulous first part of March and I will talk to all of you soon.
