Subject:Student First Anti-Bullying Forum
The ministry of Education hosted a Student First Anti-Bullying Forum on Wednesday, November 19, 2014, in Saskatoon. Principals were asked to nominate 2 students from their school, one in grade 10 and one in grade 11, who were seen as advocates for positive change in their schools. This year’s forum was about growing leadership skills and digital fluency of Saskatchewan youth to help build supportive and strong online and in school communities.

Horizon School Division was able to send 6 students to the Forum on Wednesday. A random draw was done and they selected the following Students:

  • Jeremey Junk – Annaheim School
  • Melanie Boyko – Humboldt Collegiate Institute
  • Katelyn Behiel – Muenster School
  • Celine Ferre – St. Brieux School
  • Jordyn Oleksyn – Wakaw School
  • Jordan Dudgeon – Watson School
These students were excellent ambassadors for their schools and for the Horizon School Division! They were engaged the whole day with other students from across the province to promote a code of conduct to eliminate bullying. The students are encouraged to work with their principal to show what they learned to the students in their schools.
