Coach Jay Fitzsimmons said, "Our conference was once again extremely competitive with the top 3 ranked teams in the province all competing against us.  The boys played extremely hard and gave everything they had but against teams with a deep bench we were unable to match up and dropped 3 regular season games to Watrous, Wynyard, and Southey.  However, their grit and determination combined with great athletic ability and solid execution allowed them to win 2 dramatic games against Cupar and Assiniboia. Where the margin of victory was a mere 4 and 2 points respectively.  The 2-3 record pushed us into the playoffs where once again we played Watrous.  The game started out even with both teams finding the end zone resulting in an 8-6 lead for Watrous after we missed our extra points attempt and they made theirs.  The second quarter saw some back and forth play with a couple errors on the Lanigan side which resulted in a halftime score of 24-9.  Watrous upped the lead to 32-9 early in the third quarter but our boys were resilient and pushed bback by scoring quickly after making the score 32-15.  The turning points in the game came on the next 2 possessions when Lanigan was able to hold Watrous and make two impressive drives deep into Watrous territory but unfortunately on both drives we turned the ball over inside the 10 yard line.  With time winding down we were forced to take chances and Watrous capitalized tacking on 2 more touchdowns late in the 4th quarter to make the final score 48-15.  The coaching staff was extremely pleased and proud of the way the team conducted themselves this year and are hoping for a deeper push in the playoff next year."
