Tuesday, Oct. 21st kicked off  Education Week at VCS.  We started off with a reading buddy session.  Students from grades K-12 gathered in the gymnasium with books.  An older student was paired up with a younger student and read together for about 25 minutes.  It was a great way to start off the week!  Every year during Education Week, we have an annual book fair put on in the school library.  It opened on Wednesday at noon for students to come and look at and purchase new books. Mrs. Wall, our librarian, did a fantastic job of setting everything up! That evening a potluck supper was held in the gym for the staff, student's and their families.  It was a great way to get to know any new students or teachers. We listened to some positive words from our enthusiastic new principal, Mr. Heritage, then it was off to the library. On Thursday, the Sr  SRC organized it's first pep rally! Each club in our school made a big banner representing their group and showed it off,  doing laps around the gym while the school cheered them on. This rally was to bring awareness to all the positive and fun activities our school has to offer.  Finally on Friday morning, the SCC and community volunteers generously put on a hearty pancake breakfast to start off our day of learning! It ended up being a great success and a terrific end to Education Week at VCS!
