This month our S.A.D.D. Group was privileged to be able to attend a weekend conference in Regina.  Mrs. Cindy Frey volunteered to accompany and supervise four members of the S.A.D.D. group to the conference. On October 17th, Mrs. Frey, Bailey Comeault, Andi Henderson, Danae Pongrass, and myself, arrived at the Regina Inn for a weekend filled with inspiring speakers talking on drinking and driving and it's consequences. One memorable speaker we heard from was Kevin Brooks.  He talked of how his life dramatically changed when he drove home drunk from a party, killing his best friend and paralyzing himself in the process. He taught us how one bad decision can change your life and others forever.  Not only were we inspired by these amazing speakers, we met many different S.A.D.D. groups from around the province and made new friends as well.  It was a very informative weekend filled with fun too!
Our group was really grateful we were able to be a part of this positive experience.  A special thanks to Mrs. Frey for volunteering her weekend to take us, and to the generous support of the Sr. SRC for helping us out with the cost of the conference.  We plan to share what we learned at the conference with the students/staff of VCS and will continue to discuss the important issue of drinking and driving and how it affects thousands of lives every day.
