Subject:LCHS Terry Fox Walk and Run
On Tuesday, September 30th Lanigan Central High School started on their own Marathon of Hope! Just as Terry had done in April 1980 in St. John's, Newfoundland! Terry made the journey of 5,373 kilometers (3,339 miles) before he was forced to stop running just outside of Thunder Bay, Ontario because the cancer had spread to his lungs. The LCHS students only ran/walked a fraction of what Terry did. The LCHS mini marathon of six kilometers circled around the town. On the way the SRC students picked up some of the residents from the lodge for a short while.

A big thanks to Hayley Garman for sharing her heart-wrenching story about cancer in her family that she fought through last year.

The school raised $767.95 in total, $84.95 in hat sales and $683.00 pledges! Good job Lanigan!

The three top pledge earners were:  Amy Fedak with a $15.00 Subway gift card and a t-shirt, Shaya Suchy and Kelsey Hage each got a $10.00 Subway gift card.
