Annaheim School Celebrates Chinese New Year
On Friday June17 and after completing a Unit of China, Gr. 3 and 4 from Annaheim School celebrated Chinese New Year.  The students began the the day with a program of oral reports on China and then performed a folk tale called 'Ah Po'.  Then knives began flashing and chopping as the students prepared and cooked a huge Chinese feast.  It was eaten with chop sticks which were a challenge for some of us.  After eating the students let off 'fire works' and everyone cheered and yelled 'Gung hey fat choy'!  The culmination of the celebration was a town-wide dragon parade.  The students shouted, 'Gung hey fat choy' as they traveled the streets and greeted everyone they saw.  It was a fabulous day!
